
About the Role
Role Overview:
The Kaiārahi will play a pivotal role in developing, organising, promoting, and delivering Te Ara Tāne program (reducing family harm for Men).
This includes:
• Utilising your own skills, knowledge and experience to help shape the support program and provide valuable input into the program design and implementation.
• Provide positive role modelling for Tāne.
• Liaising with whānau, contractors and stakeholders.
• Mentor and support Tāne who use violence, to fill their kete with healing techniques and positive forms of communication.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
Essential:
· Basic understanding of te ao Māori, te reo me ōna tikanga or be willing to upskill in this area.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or other relevant software.
· Qualification in a relevant field (social work, community development, etc.) or working towards.
· Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and integrity.
· Understand the barriers for people living rural and for Māori in accessing services in New Zealand.
Desirable:
· Previous experience in the health or community sector.
· Familiarity with Kaupapa Māori community programs and services is preferred.
· Lived experience, including an understanding of rural New Zealand and Māori inequity.
